Auto Turret

Project Status: Concept Phase

The auto-turret is an AEG (or a pair of AEGs) mounted on a tripod, with electric motors controlling the direction the weapon is pointed in. The motors are controlled through and Arduino by a laptop. Open Computer Vision (OpenCV) software controls the targeting, allowing the weapon to differentiate between teams wearing different colored uniforms, and preventing the weapon from firing on refs/moderators wearing organge, or players with red kill rags. A voice recognition chip from sparkfun adds in the ability for refs and players to disarm the weapon during emergiencies or cease fires.

Part 1: Tripod with mounted guns controlled locally (directly driven by switches).

Part 2: Adding in the Arduino and basic automation.

Part 3: Linking to laptop with basic target recognition (movement) and the voice recognition.

Part 4: Advanced target Recognition with openCV.
