Groundnet

Project Status: Proof-of-Concept Phase

Groundnet is a project to connect 3 houses in 3 separate towns via highspeed wireless radios. The network will consist of two Ubiquiti Powerstation 5's and one Ubiquiti Picostation 5 to serve as a bridge. Due to the terrain, each radio will need to be mounted on a "tower" (we refer to them as towers for simplicity, they are technically guyed masts). We are currently in the early stages of construction of the first tower (named Groundnet-1). The radios have been purchased and the backbone switch has been installed. You can view the full image gallery here.
